09/01/09 Dawn Richard appearing at "R&B live DC" on January the 13th
R&B Live DC 2009 Kickoff New Year, New Talent, New Music Washington, DC (Dec. 31, 2008)- R&B Live DC is ready to start the new year off with a bang. On Tuesday, January 13th R&B Live DC proudly presents DAWN Richard (of Danity Kane) at Posh Restaurant & Supper Lounge. DAWN Richard is a native of the great New Orleans, LA and spent most of her childhood developing her singing and dancing skills. Later on she auditioned for MTV’s “Making the Band 3″ where she was chosen to compete for Diddy’s female group. DAWN ultimately made it through the season and was chosen to be a member of Danity Kane, along side 4 other females. She is now working on her solo project, while still a member of the platinum selling group. R&B Live DC is pleased to announce that Marjorie Harris will host this month’s event as the all female house band Be’La Dona will accent the venue with their sounds as DJ Huck Fin spins. The opening act will be Washington, DC’s own Kevin Ross. Kevin was named Best New R&B Artist by AOL Music and is BET’s 106 & Park “Wild Out Wednesday” All-Star Champion. He is working on his EP, which is due later in 2009 and is currently promoting his new single “That Girl (Winner)”. Posh Restaurant & Supper Club is located at 730 11th St NW, Washington, DC 20001. The doors open at 8pm. For table reservations, please call 202.393.0975 or visit http://www.poshdc.com. Credited to roztron on DRO

08/01/09 Making the Band special to air in February
MTV's 'Making the Band 4' special: On the sceneJan 7, 2009, 05:14 PM | by Margeaux Watson just returned to the office from being interviewed on camera for MTV's upcoming Making the Band 4 special, which I'm told will air in February. It was taped at MTV's studio in downtown New York and it was pretty cool because I got a chance to see a few of the fans that were invited to give their feedback as well. (They were very excited about getting the celebrity hair and makeup treatment.) My interview mostly focused on what makes the show a hit, why it connects with viewers, and what went wrong with Danity Kane. Of course, the producers made me promise not to ruin any of the surprises they have planned for the show, but here's what I can tell you: It will be an hour-long special recapping the first three seasons of the show, culminating with an exclusive preview of the season 4 trailer. In addition to featuring commentary from fans and journalists such as yours truly, the special will also feature interviews with DK, Diddy, Day 26, and Donnie Klang. No one would tell me if Aubrey O'Day and D. Woods will appear on the show, but I'm guessing they will. After all, what else do they have to do these days? Life after DK clearly isn't as cute as they thought it would be. Imagine that. source: http://margeauxs-mix.ew.com/2009/01/making-the-band.htmlThanks to shelly-ann on DRO for the link

07/01/09 Aubrey O'Day talks to MTV
AUBREY O'Day Talks About Her Future With 'Making The Band' 'I think there's a lot of misconceptions based off of Puff's portrayal of me as a person,' former Danity Kane star says.In October, Diddy very publicly kicked AUBREY O'Day out of Danity Kane during the season finale of "Making the Band." It had many fans wondering if O'Day would be back for another season of the show — but for now, O'Day says she doesn't see it in the cards. "You never know if I'll be involved in the new season, but as of now, no," she told MTV News. "I'd really like to just move past 'Making the Band' and start making my own career. But you never know." While she's continued to make headlines with talk about her sexuality and rumors of a Playboy pictorial, her musical plans for the new year are more vague, so making a cameo on the show that made her a star may not be completely out of the question. "I have love and respect for the entire situation and if I should need to go back and give a little love and respect to 'Making the Band,' then so be it," she said. O'Day admitted that she misses her former bandmates. "I'm sad," she said. "I think that Danity Kane is an amazing group and I think that we made amazing music. We had great albums." She added that things that might not have made it into the show or into headlines made it difficult for the group to go on as it was. "There's always tons that goes on behind the scenes and that's usually the part that matters most. "There's not much you can do about that situation," she added. "Puff needed to do what's best for him, and so now it's my time to do what's best for me." And that may mean trying to change some perceptions of her. She said she feels Diddy may have had the wrong impression, and now that she's on her own she can show people who she really is. "I think there's a lot of misconceptions based off of Puff's portrayal of me as a person, that I'm trying to be this or trying to be that," she said. "I'm not trying to be anything." We'll have lots more from our interview with AUBREY O'Day in the coming days — and be sure to check back on Wednesday the 14th, when we'll have some big news! 01/01/09 D.Woods Wishes us a Happy New Year
As I commence on my annual New Years ritual of cleaning out all the junk in my room ( I tend to be a pack rat) I realized I have more than just materials to clear out before 09. I have lots of emotions both good and bad that need to be put in their proper place. Many of you gave me great memories and pictures, scrap books, and letters and bottles of patron, lol, that I got caught up reminiscing for hours on my bedroom floor. I re-lived moments, remembered some of my favorite fans, wondered how they were doing and how they feel about the changes that are taking place. In these last two years I've experienced some great accomplishments but also some of the deepest depression and unhappiness I've experienced in my life. Going through the pictures I remembered how hard the fight was to look that happy for our fans. replayed all the different issues going on under that top layer that was presented to the public. And how getting those reactions and letters was the only way I could do it again in the next city. Our blessing sometime come in disguise, so being fired doesnt always mean what you think. I know there's probably no way I can really make you understand, but what I found you guys understood about me in the things you wrote to me is "you seem very honest, down to earth, and real". You guys always asked me to keep it real and stay true to myself, so I hope you understand I am doing just that, and to continue the way I was I'd have to do the opposite. You won't see me on whatever the next installment of MTB will end up being or a apart of what DK will become, but when you do see me next there will be no doubt that I'm doing just fine! (In mary j blige voice lol) you guys will recognize this representation of D.Woods from the split second glimpses I was able to show over the past two years, I hope yall will stay down and continue to support. Happy New Year! PS...shout out to Carlos from d.woods web, anthony from the Bay, and imelda from Ireland, and all yall I can't name cuz there's too many!
